Identify a perfect lip balm- keep your lips moisturized
What makes a perfect lip balm for you? My perfect lip balm is moisturizing without having to reapply throughout the day. Reduces chapped lips in the harsh winters of Wisconsin. Well, I was unable to find a perfect lip balm in the stores. Therefore, I decided to make my own lip balm. This is one of my products that took me the longest to find the right recipe without being extremely hard, soft or non-moisturizing. Plus, the lip balm needs to withstand the extreme temperature changes throughout the day. In Wisconsin, we can start the morning in the 50's and by the afternoon we are at 80's.
Here are the ingredients I use in my lip balm and why:
Beeswax: Natural, breathable barrier to lock in moisture and prevent dryness. Adds hardness to the lip balm.
Shea Butter: Repairs damaged, cuts, and sores on the lips. Contains vitamins and fatty acids. Acts a barrier against cold, dry air. Excellent combination with coconut oil and beeswax.
Coconut Oil: Silky, smooth guide on the lips. Melts when in contact with the lips. Anti-inflammatory which is great for inflammation of the lips, sun burn, or wind burn.
Tallow: Provides a longer shelf life without the need of preservatives. Contains multiple vitamins to heal the lips from damage. Strengthens the skin of the barrier.
Flavor: Of course, if you love flavor to enhance to your lip balm experience.
Encourage you to find your perfect lip balm. If you experience the same issues I have, then I encourage you to try my lip balm.
Have a great day!
